Steve Gates is the Managing Director of Taking Care, part of AXA Health, the UK’s largest provider of personal alarms to vulnerable and elderly customers. Taking Care provide 24/7 cover to their customers via three Emergency Resolution Centres (in Exeter, Ashburton and Chichester) and are the UK’s fastest-growing providers of emergency monitoring services to vulnerable customers, especially after a fall has occurred. Taking Care have provided services from Devon for over thirty years and have supported over 180,000 Loved Ones to live an independent and active life while remaining in their own home.
Taking Care works with a range of leading consumer brands, including Age Co and Brain in Hand, and is also the chosen partner to some of the UK’s largest Councils and housing associations. Dealing with around 2,500 emergency calls per day Taking Care provides a lifeline to customers and can provide support either via local contacts or a referral to the appropriate emergency services.
Steve has been part of Taking Care for the last 2 ½ years. Prior to that Steve worked at BUPA and Denplan and was both a Vice-President of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the local Chamber committee in Winchester for 5 years. Steve is a Chartered Director and is a previous holder of the Best Leader award from the “Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For”.
