James Tarry

James joined Broadwood Capital in January 2025 as Chief Investment Officer, bringing over 25 years of financial services experience with the last 15 years in the investment management of private credit.

In addition to capital raising and investment strategy, James is responsible for the management of the Broadwood Later Living Sustainable Construction Finance Fund, a vehicle which provides senior loans secured by later living construction assets located in the UK which meet mandatory minimum sustainability criteria.

Prior to joining Broadwood, he was head of multi-asset fund management at Aviva Investors where he was responsible for the management and performance of over £5bn of capital commitments allocated to various private debt strategies.  He was also co-lead manager of the £700m Climate Transition Real Assets Fund.

He is an independent member of the corporate finance and treasury committee at Notting Hill Genesis, one of the UK’s largest housing associations.

James holds an MA from the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
