Ian Smith is an operating partner with Trilantic, a private equity group, and a non-executive director in the Ministry of Defence. Until recently he was Chair of King’s College Hospital, one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the country, and previously Chair of Four Seasons Health Care, the biggest care home operator.
Ian Smith was CEO of a number of companies including Reed Elsevier, Taylor Woodrow, General Healthcare Group, and Exel Europe. He started his business career with Shell in the Middle East (Jordan and Oman).
He worked for 3 years with the Quartet on the Arab-Israeli peace process in 2010.
He has an MA from Oxford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is an Adjunct Professor at Imperial College, London.
