Giles Wilmore

 

Giles Wilmore is Director of Community at the award-winning orchestral charity Manchester Camerata. He leads a community programme focused on musical creativity and support for children and young people, as well as Music in Mind, a programme which brings the benefits of music-based therapy to people living with dementia. He is also the Programme Director for the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for Music and Dementia, hosted by Manchester Camerata.

Giles has a background in the healthcare system, holding senior roles at national, regional and local level.  Prior to taking up his role with Music in Mind, Giles spent several years as an NHS Director of Strategy in Greater Manchester, and was Associate Lead for People and Communities at the Greater Manchester Health and Care Partnership, leading the roll-out of social prescribing across the city region. Giles had also been Director of Strategy at the Samaritans; Director of Patient and Public Involvement at NHS England and a senior civil servant at the Department of Health and Social Care.
