Early career in Property and Corporate Finance at Johnson Fry and Brown Shipley in the City, followed by 3 years as corporate & finance director of FairBriar plc. He was FD of Ashley House plc leading the flotation in 2007 and established investment company AH Medical Properties plc as CEO which was the top performing healthcare portfolio prior to its acquisition by Assura.
In 2013 Bruce led a strategic review of the Quercus Healthcare Property Fund for Quintain. Upon the acquisition of Quercus and the Lifestyle Care portfolio by Lone Star in 2016, Bruce’s company Layland Walker Ltd were appointed as Asset Managers incorporating some 100 care homes. In January 2019 Aedifica NV/SA, a Pan-European Healthcare REIT, acquired the portfolio and have since acquired Layland Walker Ltd in October 2021 from Bruce and his colleagues.
Bruce was non-executive Chairman of Greene Light Stage plc (previously Old Vic Productions) and is a trustee of charity Rackets Cubed.
