Michael Maslinski represents the voice of a resident, having lived in a care home for 9 years to be with his late wife, Maggie, who had advanced dementia. From within the home, he closely supervised her care and medical treatment and has a rare perspective on the service given by the home and other health professionals. He is writing a book to share his experience for the benefit of others involved in care and proposing some significant reforms, particularly in the management of risk. Prior to retirement, Michael ran a strategic consultancy advising banks and financial institutions around the world.
